Moderate Alzheimer's drug

 Donepezil (Aricept) is approved to treat all stages of the disease. It's taken once a day as a pill. Galantamine (Razadyne) is approved to treat mild to moderate Alzheimer's. Rivastigmine (Exelon) is approved for mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. The drug works by blocking amyloid-beta, another protein that turns neurons into plaques and tangles when they are damaged or destroyed. Rituxan [a combination drug] has been used at higher doses in patients with Parkinson's syndrome who have symptoms such just like those seen clinically in Huntington Disease. An increased risk for cancer-related complications may arise if one takes riogaine every two weeks instead of on its own." - Andrew D. Smith & Mary H. Rosser "It was reported earlier this year in Science Journal 632 that research funded through NIH shows Rivadene can reduce plaque formation associated w/molecular oxygen.



However, it has failed in several studies with patients taking multiple drugs that include beta-blockers and muscle relaxants. That raises questions about its safety.
