Alzheimer's disease

 Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disorder that causes brain cells to waste away (degenerate) and die. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia — a continuous decline in thinking, behavioral, and social skills that disrupts a person's ability to function independently.  "What we really have to do here is just make it clear how this affects people." - Ciancia Brownwell from AAUP "We're having trouble understanding what happens at early stages," said Dr. Susan Brekke, senior vice president for neuroscience research on Aging Cell Science Foundation, an organization focused exclusively with advancing treatment issues relating biochemistry, cell biology, etc. She noted that while there are several forms such as glial-like stem cells or adult neurogenesis which may help fight off certain cognitive challenges.
